The power of "hallowed" comes from its ancient lineage, descending from the Old English word 'hālgian', meaning 'to make holy' or 'to consecrate', deeply connected to 'holy' itself and its Germanic roots, echoing early pagan and Christian reverence. "Tradition," on the other hand, arrived from the Latin 'traditio', which simply meant 'a handing over' or 'delivery'—the passing down of customs, stories, or knowledge. When these two words met and melded, especially by the Middle Ages, they forged a concept far grander than their individual parts.
